We all know its a basic safety to keep our finger and toenails cut short before Kendo practice.
Not that it is important, but, I’m just wondering how many of female (or male?) Kendokas keep their long fingernails? I only know 1 person in my dojo.
I haven’t had one since I started practice Kendo 5 years ago and I think I become very discipline about it. So, every once a week, on Saturday morning… I cut my nails. All of ‘em.
Apparently I’m a creature of habit.
How about you?

heee nails ya... for hands i keep it medium length. totally cannot live with absolutely short nails, gw harus manjangin paling ngga dikit heuheuhe. but I don't dare to keep them long anymore - leant it the hard way, that I did huhuhu.
If toe nails and frieds, I kept it short :D.
I am definitley keeping my nails longer now that i don't actually do kendo :) but normally i tried to keep it short... i don't like them digs into my palm during suburi.. maybe i could get a thicker handle shinai :P
By the way fi... I am finding it hard to read the gray writing specially in the tenugui part of the photo :( but then again i am rather blind
For me it will always brings me in good mood to do anything with my hands when I have it shortcut and clean :D I think everyone will do ey?

I can't and don't want to keep my nails too long, as I found it pretty much troubling doing my job with long nails.
